Spongebob Squarepants 400

This year we watched the  Spongebob Squarepants 400 at the Kansas Speedway.  Weather moved in and delayed the race for a few hrs but it was still a good show.  I took a few pictures of the stragely beautiful and yet creepy sky after the rain.

Ironically the Spongebob car spun out in the middle of the race and slid into the infield where it got stuck in the wet grass.  He had to get towed out.  Couldn't have been planned to be more perfectly placed on their logo.

Happy 4th Birthday Renae

Happy 4th Birthday Renae!

We helped our friend Renae celebrate her birthday at Deanna Rose Farmstead. Her birthday was a Wizard of Oz theme and she was adorable in her Dorothy dress.  It was a fun day.  Will did a good job despite missing his nap time.  Louis had fun climbing a tree and exploring with Will.

Backyard inspection with Daddy

Our backyard is a real mess this year but we love the new sewer line. So we are not complaining.  Doug and Will were inspecting it together.  Just behind them are huge rivets from the tires of the machines and not shown is the mud pit that is now half the yard.

Baby Cardinal

This spring we found a cardinal nest right next to our front door in one of our half dead evergreen bushes.  We confirmed it was definitely cardinals.  The daddy was around a lot.  We ended up seeing 3 babies in the next.  We watched them grow for a few weeks and then they were gone.  I'm sure they didn't like us monsters peeking in on their privacy but it was a treat to see.

Hippo Chat

We were just in time to see the Hippo Chat at the zoo.  Will's picture was taken before the chat.  I think he was channeling his inner hippo.
